London’s museums and art galleries are some of the best in the world – and they’re one of the few things I miss about living in the city. But, it’s not exactly hard to jump on a train for a day of culture and this is the ideal time for a jaunt, just as museums open their major Spring exhibitions. (Brucey bonus – most London museum gift shops are absolutely brilliant these days – perfect for unusual gifts and stylish interiors bits).Read more
Drum Roll please!
Dig out your Dior, polish that crystal and put the champers on ice, because the Muddy Awards are rolling into town. We want to shout from the rooftops (hard in heels, but we’ll give it our best shot) about Warwickshire’s indy businesses in all their quirky, unmissable, glorious erm, glory – from food producers to destination pubs, cool kids theatre to pop-up supper clubs. Ever been bowled over by a small business that you think deserves recognition for being brilliant?Read more

Last week saw an historic gathering of power players for a day of diplomatic discussions. EU leaders discussing the terms of Brexit? Nah, I’m talking Muddy Stiletto’s national conference, obviously! With your local superblog now boasting 18 (yes flippin eighteen!) regional editions, us editors convened en masse in the smoke to um, drink quite a lot of prosecco.
Our venue for the day was The Harcourt, a chic Grade 2-listed, five-storey Georgian townhouse which is a bar, restaurant, meeting and private dining space – and is now officially our new favourite London haunt.Read more
The line-up for 2017’s Big Festival celebrating music, food and family fun has been released into the wild. The event will be held once again on founder and Blur star Alex James’ farm in the Cotswolds on August Bank Holiday weekend, with Olly Murs headlining.
Superstar chefs Nathan Outlaw, Antonio Carluccio and Cyrus Todiwala will be providing the fry up (it may be a bit more intricate than that) and Bake Off winner Candice Brown will be taking to the NEFF Big Kitchen stage.Read more
Read this fab review of The George Townhouse by my neighbour Muddy Gloucestershire ed Sarah:
Walk into The George Townhouse and you feel like you’re popping into a friend’s house, your very stylish friend whom you envy ever so slightly for her uncanny knack for bringing together flea markets finds, mismatched cushions and bold colourways with artful panache. Located on Shipston-on-Stour’s main street (I know, I know, I’ve strayed into Warwickshire!), this handsome pub with its elegant collection of Georgian rooms is a far cry from your typical, low-ceilinged, rural affair.Read more

Muddy Stiletto’s Editor-in-Chief Hero Brown made a run for it into London with her new Mary Poppins travel bag…
I escaped into London last weekend – left my three children to fend for themselves (social services: this is a JOKE!) – and had a whale of a time with Mr Muddy. A couple of things to tell you. Firstly, if you’re looking for a good value place to rest your head in the smoke, the Z Hotel is almost indecently placed in the centre of things in Soho, one minute from Chinatown, a hop and a skip from Covent Garden and bang in the middle of all the fun.Read more

Muddy Northants ed Anna-Lou travels to neighbouring Warwickshire for a mini-break. You can read all about about her adventures at this supposedly haunted four-star hotel near Stratford-upon-Avon…
Since Bridget Jones went on her mini break with Daniel Cleaver, I’ve always loved the allure of a naughty night away (even if nothing naughty happens, its just good to get a break from the old routine)! Not as easy as it once was BC (before children), but nontheless, I still try and make it happen a couple of times a year.Read more
